Challenges with Kids Playing Unblocked Games at School

Depending on the area where you live, elementary and middle schools may have computers and laptops in their classrooms. This has had several positive impacts for students, such as allowing them to start using technology at an early age as well as giving them an additional way to learn in class. Students are also able to get more of their homework done at school instead of at home by being able to do research and assignments online. There has been one negative aspect to having computers in class and that is when a small handful of kids try to play unblocked games at school.

For teachers, it is a challenge because they are not able to always keep an eye on what websites the kids are accessing when they go online. Depending on what search terms the students are using to search for unblocked games at school, they are likely to run into a website or two that contains mature adult content. This may mean they see images of blood or violence that is not appropriate for their age level.

It is up for debate whether it is okay to allow kids to play computer games in class that are not for learning purposes when there are free hours of the day such as at lunch or recess. Once kids are able to play online games during those times, that there is that chance it will try to sneak in gaming action during regular class sessions. This can cause a distraction for the entire class as well as for the teacher.

When kids are playing video games online during the school day, they are missing out on interactions with other classmates and learning how to get along with others. There is also a loss of exercise time if kids are staying inside for recess to sit in front of the computer screen if the play on the playground.

School officials can work to block access to games online by applying filters to certain popular gaming websites or by using filters for keywords to prevent popular search terms from bringing up online gaming websites that kids can access. One problem with kids accessing gaming sites where there aren’t downloadable links as at some of those gains may contain malware or harmful viruses which could impact the school’s computer system.

Teachers need to make sure that students are aware of the computer game policy in the classroom so if there are any rules broke in students will not be surprised when the proper punishment is applied to them.

Kid’s Gardening Tools Will Put The Little Gardeners on the Right Path!

As gardeners, we all know that the right tools are important for growing the best produce. Yet, many of us either have our children use our tools or buy them little plastic garden toy tools and let them play in the dirt while we do the serious gardening. Neither of these options, however, helps them learn or offers ways to help.

Besides that, plastic toy tools can be dangerous in the garden, as they can break or crack and large “grown-up” garden tools are heavy and awkward for little hands. This can cause frustration and may even lead to discouragement and cause the child to abandon their desire to help in the garden.

Child garden tools are different in many ways from regular tools. Whereas adult gardening tools are made to be more high tech and ergonomic, kid’s gardening tools are made for little hands and minds. Made of the same, or similar, materials as their adult versions these tools are simpler and have far fewer options available.

Fortunately, garden tools for children are available at most big box retailers, plant nurseries and landscape or garden shops. And the best way to start your child on the path to loving plants and gardening, begins by making a plan which includes them. Don’t just buy a bunch of child’s tools. Decide what you want to do right now and get only those tools for your child that will help them help you on that particular project.

For instance, let’s say you want to do a little container planting; growing tomatoes, miniature fruit and a few herbs. When you go to the store to purchase the pots, mulch, topsoil and whatever else you’ll need, take the kids with you. Ask the salesperson which gardening tools the little ones will need for this specific job and make sure the kids are with you during the whole buying process. Call first to make sure the retailer has kid’s gardening tools before you go.

Try and plan your outing so that you’ll have time to at least start the project when you get back home, as the excitement level will be the highest then. And when the tools are cleaned and put away remember the kid’s gardening tools go with all the other tools, not their toys. Do this each time a new project, or part of a project requires and soon the kids will be gardening like experts all by themselves!

One of the well known doll manufacturers in the US was the Arranbee Doll Company (a.k.a R & B). The company brought several high quality dolls mad of composition, vinyl, rubber, hard plastic, and bisque. It was founded by William Rothstein in 1919 in New York City. In the initial years of the company, they imported bisque doll parts especially the doll heads from German companies such as Simon & Halbig and Armand Marseille. They offered all-bisque and composition dolls which included shoes, wigs, doll body parts, and hospital dolls.

Soon after around 1925, Arranbee started producing their own dolls and even became a supplier for Vogue Doll Company around 1927. They opened their own factory which was mostly producing composition dolls in New York. Vogues 11-inch Dora doll and 14 or 17-inch Sportswoman doll series were a couple of dolls supplied by Arranbee and repackaged by Vogue. Arranbee also started producing hard plastic dolls in the 1940s and also kept up with the popularity of vinyl dolls in the 1950s.

The Arranbee dolls still known for their high quality materials and clothing. Yet a big change came to the company when its founder, William Rothstein, died in 1957. Rothsteins family continued the operations but only for a brief period. They then sold the company to Vogue Doll Co. which continued its name until 1961. Most of the Arranbee dolls are properly marked and can be identified, thus making it easier for collectors to identify vintage Arranbee creations.

Some of its doll collections which include the year these were first manufactured are:
1) My Dream Baby (1924)
2) Bottle Tot (1926)
3) Nancy (1931)

Great Rainy Day Activities for Kids

It can be challenging to come up with ideas for entertaining the kids when the weather is cold, miserable and wet. In a way this limits your possibilities, considering you cannot spend a lot of time outdoors, however, do not fret as there is plenty that can be done indoors too.

This selection of rainy day activities will suit a range of interests, whether your little ones prefer maths or baking.

Kitchen Fun

Use the opportunity to introduce your kids to cooking. Pick out some simple recipes that you know they will like. Some cakes are very easy to make and are bound to be a hit. Pasta sauces and pizzas are also great to make with younger members of the family.

If the kids are young, you will obviously need to take care that they do not handle any sharp knives or piping hot food and liquids. So, if making pizza, for example, put them to work tearing mozzarella cheese with their hands or washing vegetables before you chop them.

Introducing kids to cooking at a young age is important as this increases the likelihood of them enjoying cuisine later on in life, and teaches them how to be independent.

Playwriting and Production

Playwriting and producing a play are a great way to while away time at the weekend. Try to come up with an interesting story that the kids will enjoy performing. If struggling for inspiration, base your play on a book or a TV show.

Let the children assemble a stage and decorate it with soft furnishings and other household goods. If possible, let them raid your closet for costumes too. Make up can be very exciting for kids if you are willing to let them use some or apply some yourself.

Tell the children to practice on their own and tell you when they’re ready to perform. Perhaps you could invite some neighbours to join you in the audience?

Maths and Science Activities

It is worth spending time productively when indoors. Avoid switching on the TV and letting your kids stare at the screen for hours on end. Why not use the time to boost your kids skills and knowledge in maths and science?

There are plenty of science experiments and math puzzles which do not require advance preparation but are still very educational. Many of these can be carried out with the help of just a few commonly found household items such as tennis balls, string, paper and pens and dice.

Why Playing Math Games is Good for Children

It is important that children develop an interest in math earlier on during the pre-kindergarten. If the child is interested and likes the subject, there are high chances that he or she will retain that interest during later stages of schooling which is a great advantage. Even if the child does not seem interested in math at the present moment, you can develop that interest by providing a little extra guidance and help.

One way of getting the kid interested in math is by introducing them to math games.

Kids love playing games more so if the games are interesting. There are plenty of math games available online that teach kids fundamental mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division among others. By playing these math games, kids will be able to develop an early interest in math and within no short time their performance in the subject will improve. Since most students consider math to be a difficult subject, those who have mastered and find the subject fun will be encouraged to perform well in other subjects.

Playing well designed math games especially those available online help improve childrens problem solving skills. By learning the games, kids will have their own ideas of solving problems and as they get more into the game they will have confidence in making their own decisions. It is very essential for kids to learn solving problems at an early age. This skill will not only help the child in math and other subjects, but will prove crucial in later stages of life.

Introducing math games to children at a very early age allows them to be familiar with the subject. Through playing math game, children will discover that math is after all not intimidating as they previously thought. Parents can introduce counting games as soon as the child starts to engage other members of the family. As they grow older, they can then be introduced to more advanced math games.

Since the math games involve more than one person, the child will be able to develop social skills. Playing the games with others improves the way they perceive team work and will be more inclined to participate in teams in future. The kids learn to solve specific problems in a team setting. The math games also help the student learn ways of motivating and positively interacting with other students. Since there is no exam at the end of the game, students will feel more relax and have a better understanding of mathematical problems.
