Got a sweet tooth? The world’s best confectionery and chocolate suppliers gather to set up shop during Londons annual Speciality Chocolate Fair and there are a host of suppliers to keep an eye out for.
The Speciality Chocolate Fair
While the 2015 Speciality Chocolate Fair has come and gone, there’s already interest being shown in next year’s event to be held once again at Olympia Central Hall. This year the best suppliers offered a wide range of products to appeal to both the aesthetic and gastronomic tastes. Among the selection was a range of cocktail chocolate bars, from fusion pieces with cocktail truffle fillings to milk and white chocolate bars. Hf Chocolates, one of the country’s best chocolate suppliers, offered access to pieces produced by Lily OBrien, along with the packed truffles of Monty Bojangles.
2015 Speciality Fair Highlights
The trade show for 2015 was a three-day affair that lasted from September 6-8. The Chocolate Fair is part of the overall Speciality and Fine Food Fair, which is dedicated to fine dining in general. However, the chocolate fair is dedicated to showcasing nothing but the finest luxury and gourmet chocolate producers – not just from the UK but from all over the world. It truly is a Mecca for chocoholics, where the best of the best compete to bring out the best new products of the year.
Not only does the fair exhibit fine chocolates, it also plays host to events such as Speciality Chocolate Live. This particular segment – set up to educate and provide inspiration for chocolate suppliers and retailers – was hosted by the Chocolate Ambassador, Will Torrent, along with other personalities from the Academy of Chocolate.
Top Chocolate Suppliers of the UK
The UK has several renowned chocolate and confectionery wholesalers, including the well-known brand, hf Chocolates. The company is one of the UKs leading wholesalers and specialises in importing and distributing speciality confections from all over the world. The company has a regular presence at Londons annual Speciality Chocolate Fair, and is a keen participant.
Established by Hans Flatauer in 1957, the company was originally known as hf Agencies, and started off importing German novelty chocolates for consumption in the UK. As the company grew, it rebranded itself as hf Chocolates, in 1999, to reflect its specialisation in the field of luxury chocolates. It is known for its innovation with fresh new products, while continuing to maintain lines of established favourites in consistently high demand among consumers.
For chocolate suppliers, retailers and confectionery aficionados, the London Speciality Chocolate Fair is a not to be missed annual event.
